HOSTING A WORKSHOP

If you would like to host a workshop, we have outlined some general requirements. However these are a guideline only as each situation is different, depending on the location, and season.

Venue: A medium sized in-door studio with a concrete floor or other suitable surface is ideal and necessary for workshops in the winter. In the summer an outdoor area with shade, on grass is fine. There needs to be a power and water source nearby. The mixing area gets messy.
Sculptures take a few days to dry and need to be left in place, until dry enough to move.

Numbers: For most workshops a minimum number of 10 people and maximum of 15, is good.

Length of Workshop: Weekend workshops are 2-3days, or 2 days with an introduction on Friday night. Brent also runs week long workshops in the summer. The host provides tea making stuff. Students bring their own lunch

Costs: We run workshops in two ways, either we do the organising and promotion and charge a fee, from $180-$250.00 per person, depending on the location of the workshop, or the host does the organising and promoting and pays Brent a tutor fee.

Materials are extra and need to be covered by the participants, as individuals make sculptures in a range of sizes. Materials cost $20-$80

If Brent is being paid a tutor fee, most polytechs and art school organisations cover Brent's travel, meals and accommodation.
